Visiting the Telemedicine Center Team at Maharaj Nakorn Chiang Mai Hospital

Sending our heartfelt encouragement to those caring for patients in remote areas.

Tears welled up…

A senior nurse managing the hospital’s telemedicine services shared a touching story:
A daughter brought her mother—who had suffered a stroke—to the hospital for treatment. She had spent a considerable amount of her own money on travel and accommodation. After the treatment, continued follow-ups were needed, but the daughter was worried about the travel expenses, which the family could barely afford—it was practically their last bit of savings.

She overheard a doctor mentioning telemedicine and decided to request follow-up care through the system. This allowed them to access healthcare without being limited by distance.

Several pediatric dermatologists at the hospital also use telemedicine to care for children across various districts and provinces in Northern Thailand. Some patients even live on remote mountain tops. Through telemedicine, doctors can provide treatment and have medications delivered to patients’ homes—using their healthcare benefits.

I feel proud and overjoyed for the hospital team and leadership who have committed themselves to building this remote care system for patients. And I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Dietz team for being a key driver behind this project.
